APPLICATION OF GUIDED IMAGERY THERAPY IN REDUCING DYSMENORHORE

Dysmenorrhea is pain that occurs when women experience their menstrual cycle. Guided imagery therapy or guided imagination uses relaxation techniques by thinking about positive things that the body can heal itself. The aim of this research is to describe the application of guided imagery relaxation therapy to reduce pain in adolescents experiencing dysmenorrhea. The method used uses a case study approach. The subjects of this research were teenagers who experienced dysmenorrhea at Akper Kesdam Iskandar Muda Banda Aceh. The data collection instruments used were observation and interviews. The research was conducted on June 28 - June 30 2024. The results showed that after implementing guided imagery relaxation, there was a decrease in pain in respondents from a moderate pain scale to a mild pain scale. So, guided imagery therapy has been proven to reduce pain in respondents with dysmenorrhea. The recommendation of this research is that it is hoped that guided imagery relaxation therapy can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce dysmenorrhea pain.
