APPLICATION OF ALOE VERA IN LOWERING BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS IN KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease with a metabolic disorder characterized by an increase in blood sugar DM can be caused by activity problems such as vision problems, itching all over the body, wounds that don't heal, cardiovascular problems. unhealthy lifestyle, lack of exercise, stress, smoking, obesity, genetics (heredity) gender. One therapy that can be given to diabetes mellitus patients is aloe vera decoction therapy. The purpose of this writing is to describe the application of aloe vera decoction in lowering blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients.levels in diabetes mellitus patients. This can be seen from the decrease in blood sugar levels in subject I and subject II. In subject l before being given therapy the blood sugar level was 230 mg/dL while after being given therapy the blood sugar level was 140 mg/dL. And in subject II, it was found that before being given therapy, the blood sugar level was 358 mg/dL, whereas after being given therapy, the blood sugar level was 250 mg/dL. It is hoped that aloe vera decoction can be a non-pharmacological therapy that can be applied to reduce blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients.
