Implementation of The Code of Ethics and professional Ethics for Nurses

Abstract

A code of ethics is a professional guideline that must be followed by doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals when providing services to patients. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive research design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample size of 68 nurses. The results of the study show that nurses at the Iskandar Muda Hospital have implemented the nurse code of ethics towards patients as follows: always 86.76%, sometimes 13.24% and never 0%. Nurses at the Iskandar Muda Hospital Banda Aceh apply the nurse code of ethics with nursing practices as follows: always 76.47%, sometimes 23.53% and never 0%. Nurses at the Iskandar Muda Hospital apply the nurse code of ethics with the community as much as 100%. Nurses at Iskandar Muda Hospital, Banda Aceh, apply the code of ethics for nurses with colleagues as follows: always 92.64%, sometimes 7.36% and never 0%. And nurses at Iskandar Muda Hospital apply the code of ethics for nurses with the nursing profession as follows: always 91.18%, sometimes 8.12% and never 0%. It is hoped that nurses at Iskandar Muda Hospital, Banda Aceh, can continue to improve the application of the code of ethics or their responsibilities towards nursing practice so that the nursing care provided will continue to improve and be of high quality.
