Abstract

ASI is the best and most essential source of nutrition for infants, especially during the first 0–6 months of life, to ensure optimal growth and development. One common issue faced by breastfeeding mothers is low breast milk supply. This condition may be influenced by several factors such as maternal education level, age, cultural beliefs, occupation, lack of family support, stress, and dietary habits. One non-pharmacological intervention to increase milk production is the use of boiled katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus). This study employed a descriptive case study design, using interviews and observations conducted before and after the intervention. Research instruments included informed consent forms, SOP sheets, observation sheets, a breast pump, and a measuring cup. The respondents were two postpartum mothers who met the inclusion criteria. The study took place from March 5 to 11, 2025, in Gampong Batee Linteng, Simpang Tiga District, Aceh Besar Regency. Results showed an increase in breast milk volume: subject I from 7 ml to 35 ml, and subject II from 5 ml to 38 ml. This indicates that boiled katuk leaf therapy is effective in enhancing breast milk production in postpartum mothers.
