Abstract

The incidence of diabetes mellitus globally, nationally, and in aceh is still the disease with the highest rate throughout the world’s population. Diabetes mellitus causes damaga to the bête cells of the pancrease (the insulin produser). Heart failure, kidney failure, and neurological disease, whicht are some disease caused by complications of diabetes mellitus, an even cause death. One of the treatment for diabetes mellitus patients is diabetic foot exercise therapy (non-pharmacological therapy). Diabetic foot gymnastis is a leg exersice in the form of movements diabetes mellitus alternately which can affect the release of endorphins hormones which function to dilage the blood vessels in the leg area so that blood flow becomes smooth and can improve the value of the ankle-brachial index in people with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this literature review is to describe the analysis of the application of diabetic foot exercise therapy in increasing the ankle-brachial index (ABI) patients with type II diabetes mellitus based on empirical studies over the last ten years. The research design is a literature review using the PICO (population, intervenstion, comperation, outcome) framework. The study method was carried out by analyzing the literature review related to the application of diabetic foot exersice therapy in increasing the ankle-brachial index (ABI) in patients with type II diabetes mellitus in the google scholer database as many five journals were analyzed. The result indicates the effectiveness of diabetic foot exercise therapy in increasing the ankle-brachial index (ABI) of patients with type II diabetes mellitus.
