Abstract

Appendectomy is surgery or surgical removal of the appendix. Appendicitis cases and deaths caused by appendicitis cases are increasing every year. One of the consequences that arise in post appendectomy patients is pain. Pain management is carried out using pharmacological and non-pharmacological techniques, one of which is the application of early mobilization. Early mobilization is useful for distracting clients from the pain they feel. This study aims to determine the description of early mobilization in reducing pain in post appendectomy patients. The type of research used is descriptive with a case study approach using data collection techniques in the form of observation and interviews with both subjects. This research was conducted using 2 subjects conducted for 6 days, where each day it was done once for 15 minutes and evaluated every day after 15 minutes of therapy. The results showed that the application of early mobilization can reduce pain in post appendectomy patients where subject I experienced pain on a scale of 5 to scale 2 and subject II experienced pain from scale 5 to scale 2. The application of early mobilization was effective in reducing pain in post appendectomy patients. Nurses can also do and take advantage of the application of early mobilization in reducing pain in post appendectomy patients.
