Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where there is an increase in blood pressure above normal limits, where systolic pressure is above 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure is above 90 mmHg. Hypertension is also one of the most common non-communicable diseases in Indonesia with a prevalence of 25.8%. If hypertension is not treated, it can lead to complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease. Celery leaf decoction water is one of the herbs that can reduce high blood pressure in hypertensive patients because it contains apiin and apigenin which have effects as peripheral vasodilators associated with a decrease in high blood pressure. This study aims to reduce high pressure in hypertensive patients after therapy with celery leaf decoction water. This type of research is descriptive with a case study design. This research was conducted at the Kopelma Darussalam Health Center Area, Banda Aceh City with the intervention given celery leaf decoction water as much as 200 cc in the morning 100 cc and in the afternoon 100 cc for 5 days which was carried out on July 16-20, 2024 on 2 respondents. The measuring instruments used are observation sheets and tension. The results showed that giving celery leaf decoction water can reduce high blood pressure in both subjects, in subject l with blood pressure from 155/90 mmHg to 120/80 mmHg and in subject ll there was a decrease in blood pressure from 150/90 mmHg to 110/80 mmHg. It can be concluded that celery leaf cooking water is effective in reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. It is hoped that the administration of celery leaf cooking water can be applied as one of the nonpharmacological therapies to reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
