Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder caused by the pancreas being unable to produce insulin, causing increased glucose levels. Blood glucose levels where a person experiences increased blood sugar levels that cause health problems, one non-pharmacological way to control increased blood glucose levels 2 hours after eating is by dieting 3 hours. Things to consider in the 3 hours diet are the amount of food, type of food, and meal schedule. The application of the 3 hours diet was carried out for 7 days and the purpose of this study was to control blood glucose levels 2 hours after eating in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This type of research is descriptive with a case study approach. The research method is by interview, checking blood glucose levels 2 hours after eating and observation. The subjects of this case study were two patients with a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus with glucose levels 2 hours after eating> 200mg/dl and had never received a 3 hours diet. The results obtained in subject 1 were blood glucose levels 2 hours after eating from 300 to 194 mg/dL and in subject 2 from 297 to 234 mg/dL where both subjects experienced a decrease and it was found that the 3J diet was able to control blood glucose levels 2 hours after eating.
