Abstract

Hallucinations are perceptual disturbances that cause individuals to respond to stimuli that do not

actually exist. One form of non-pharmacological therapy that can be used to control hallucinations is

dzikr therapy. This therapy focuses on spiritual activities through the repetition of dzikr phrases to

provide calmness and enhance awareness of reality. this study aims to describe nursing care through

the application of dzikr therapy for patients experiencing auditory hallucinations. The study used a

descriptive method with a case study approach involving two patients at Balee Dahlia, Aceh

Government Mental Hospital, conducted from February 14 to 23, 2025. Instruments used in the study

included observation sheets, prayer beads (tasbih), and consent forms. The results showed that dzikr

therapy was effective in reducing the intensity of auditory hallucinations. In Subject I, the

hallucination symptom score decreased from 57% to 14%, while in Subject II, it decreased from 71%

to 28%. This reduction indicates that dzikr therapy is effective in helping patients manage auditory

hallucinations. Therefore, dzikr therapy can be used as a potential non-pharmacological alternative

for managing auditory hallucinations in a spiritual, safe, and holistic manner.
