Hypertension is a common problem among the elderly, causing an increase in blood pressure
above normal and increasing the risk of morbidity and mortality. If left untreated, hypertension
can lead to serious conditions such as heart attack, heart failure, cerebral vascular disorders,
kidney damage and blindness. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to lower blood pressure
in the elderly with hypertension is the consumption of soy milk. This study aims to describe the
application of soy milk in lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. This research
design is descriptive with a case study approach, using interview and observation methods in two
elderly with hypertension. The instruments used in this study were consent sheets, assessment
sheets, observation sheets, soy milk operational procedures, and sphygmomanometers. The
research was conducted in Gampong Jeulingke, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh on February
19-24, 2025. The results showed a decrease in blood pressure of subject I from 140/90 mmHg to
120/80 mmHg, and subject II from 150/100 mmHg to 130/90 mmHg. In conclusion, the
application of soy milk effectively reduces blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension and
can be done independently
