Hypertension is a medical condition in which people whose blood pressure increases above normal, namely 140/90 mmHg, can experience the risk of illness (morbidity) and even death (mortality). There are several factors that can influence hypertension such as age, hereditary factors, and stress. If hypertension is not treated quickly, it can cause increased blood pressure which can cause stroke and complications from other diseases such as kidney failure, heart failure and several other fatal diseases. The application of acupressure is an intervention that can reduce blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension. The aim of this research is to determine the reduction in blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension after nursing intervention using acupressure techniques. This research design uses descriptive research using a case study approach method. Data collection techniques were through interviews and observations with 2 elderly respondents who suffered from hypertension, subjects aged 55-75 years, subjects with blood pressure 140/90 mmHg. The results of the study showed that blood pressure before the intervention in subject I was 159/92 mmHg and subject II was 168/92 mmHg. Blood pressure after intervention in subject I was 142/78 mmHg and subject II was 135/78 mmHg. This research proves that the application of acupressure has an effect on reducing blood pressure in elderly sufferers. It is hoped that this research can be an intervention in reducing blood pressure in the elderly.
