PENERAPAN TERAPI BACK MASSAGE DALAM PENANGANAN NYERI PADA PASIEN POST LAPARATOMI

Abstract

Laparatomy is an abdominal surgery to open the lining of the stomach, causing pain. Pain is a sensory emotional and subjective in the form of an unpleasant condition caused by tissue damage that has actually been damaged or has the potential to be damaged. This pain can be reduced by giving Back Massage therapy. Back Massage is a technique to provide massage action to the back with gentle strokes. This study aims to describe nursing care with the application of Back Massage therapy in pain management in post-laparotomy patients. The type of research used is descriptive with data collection techniques in the form of observation, participation, and direct communication. Data collection was carried out from 2 to 7 April 2018 with 2 subjects. The results of this study indicate that there is a reduction in pain after back massage therapy, as evidenced by the pain scale reduced from 5 to 0 in subject I and in subject II from a pain scale of 5 to 1.Thus, Back Massage therapy can be used as one alternative in reducing pain in post-laparotomy patients.
