THE RELATIONSHIP BEETWEN MOTHER KNOWLEDGE AND FAMILY SUPPORT AND EARLY BREASTFEEDING IN THE WEST ACEH REGENCY

Abstract

MP-ASI is food and beverages given to children aged 6-24 months to meet their nutritional needs. Getting a Breast Milk Companion that is given too early or too late is a problem that often occurs in society in general. In fact, in the community, it shows that feeding babies and children by mothers has been inappropriate. The purpose of the research is to find out the relationship between knowledge and family support with early breastfeeding (MP-ASI) in the work area of UPTD Suak Ribee Health Centre, Johan Pahlawan District, Aceh Regency. Methods This study uses a quantitative research method with a cross sectional study approach. The results of the bivariate test obtained a maternal knowledge value with a p-value of 0.003 < from an ? value of 0.05 and a family support value with a p-value of 0.000 < from an ? value of 0.05. Based on the results of the study, there is a relationship between maternal knowledge and family support with early MP-ASI administration in the work area of UPTD Suak Ribee Health Centre, Johan Pahlawan District, West Aceh Regency. The importance of education on the proper provision of Complementary Foods (MP-ASI) to both mothers and families in the Working Area of UPTD Suak Ribee Health Centre, West Aceh Regency so that children can grow and develop optimally.
