Abstract

Auditory hallucinations are a condition in which individuals experience an inability to distinguish between internal and external stimuli. Individuals perceive the environment without any real stimuli, such as hearing voices when no one is speaking or hearing them. This study aims to provide comprehensive nursing care through the application of expressive writing therapy at Aceh Mental Hospital. The method used was to provide expressive writing therapy and implement nursing care for six days for auditory hallucination patients at Balee Dahlia, Aceh Mental Hospital. Patients received expressive writing therapy for three days consisting of two sessions, each day one session with a duration of 30 minutes. The results of the study on subject 1 showed a decrease in the intensity of hallucinations after expressive writing therapy, which previously hallucinatory sounds appeared 7-9 times a day and after intervention became 3 times a day or even not heard at all, the results of the study on subject 2 showed a decrease in the intensity of hallucinations after expressive writing therapy, which previously hallucinatory sounds appeared 8 times and a duration of 8 minutes a day and after intervention became 5 times and a duration of 4 minutes a day or even not heard at all. The conclusion of this study is that expressive writing therapy can reduce the intensity of auditory hallucinations in patients, making them calmer and more relaxed, and reducing anxiety and other symptoms in patients with auditory hallucinations
