Abstract

Appendectomy is one of the management of appendixitis which is usually in surgery and can cause a response in the form of pain. Pain is discomfort due to postoperative wounds which can be measured by a pain scale. Early mobilization is an effort to maintain the patient's independence as soon as possible so that he can get out of his bed. The purpose of this study was to see the application of early mobilization in reducing pain in post appendectomy patients. This research is descriptive using the case study approach method. With the subject of two post appendectomy patients. This research was conducted on August 7 to 13 2018. In this study, researchers used observation sheets to assess the reduction in pain intensity of patients before and after the implementation of early mobilization. This research was conducted for 4 consecutive days. The results obtained in subject I after early mobilization for 4 days the pain scale 6 became a pain scale 2 and in subject II from a pain scale 6 to a pain scale 3.Thus early mobilization can be an alternative action to reduce pain in post-patient patients. appendectomy.
