Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a state of chronic hyperglycemia accompanied by various metabolic disorders due to hormonal disorders that cause various chronic complications in the eyes, kidneys, nerves and blood vessels. One of the prevention of Diabetes Mellitus is by giving noni juice to reduce blood sugar levels. In noni fruit contains proxeronine and proxeroninenase substances through the formation of xeronine which can regenerate damaged pancreatic beta cells, so that it can function properly again and produce enough insulin to control blood sugar levels. The purpose of this study is to see the effectiveness of the application of Noni juice in reducing blood sugar levels in Type II Diabetes Mellitus clients. This type of research is descriptive with a case study approach, data collection methods used are the method of observation, interviews and measurement of blood sugar levels using glucocheck. This research was conducted from 11 to 16 March 2019 with a total of 2 subjects. The results showed that there was a change in blood sugar levels after the application of noni juice in subject I from 415 mg / dl to 163 mg / dl and subject II from 363 mg / dl to 137 mg / dl. Thus, the application of noni juice can be an alternative action in reducing blood sugar levels on people with diabetes mellitus.
