Abstract

This is typical as an early warning and currently the incidence of hypertension continues to increase every year and is the number one cause of death in the world. Causes of hypertension can occur due to age, gender, obesity, smoking habits, drinking coffee, and alcohol consumption. Hypertension can cause dangerous complications and can end in death. Handling hypertension can be done with non-pharmacological treatment, one of which is giving garlic, garlic can lower blood pressure because garlic contains allicin and hydrogen sulfide. By enlarging blood vessels and making blood vessels not stiff, so that blood pressure will decrease, the compound allicin contained in garlic is efficacious in destroying blood clots in the arteries, reducing diabetes symptoms and reducing blood pressure. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the administration of garlic (garlic sole) in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. based on empirical studies of the last ten years. The design of this research is a literature review searched through the Google Scholar database, using the PICO framework (problem, intervention, comparison, outcome) so that five journals are obtained according to the research topic. The results of the literature review can be concluded that there is an effect of giving garlic (garlic sole) in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Based on the results of the analysis of the literature review that has been carried out by researchers, the researchers will submit suggestions including increasing reference sources and information that giving garlic (garlic sole) can reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients
